First Grade Excursion to the 75th power!

Hello! This is Amy and Kassandra. We are the Tuesday morning Mesquite volunteers, and today, we had the privilege of giving 75 first graders and their teachers the Tour de Mesquite!





The kids were very well-behaved, for the most part. They stayed in line, listened when we were talking, raised their hands when they asked questions, and smiled a lot.







After we finished the tour, they picked out books to check out. Most of them grabbed the first book they saw and plopped down on the floor to read. Some of them used the computers to search for books about subjects in which they were interested.







Checkout was Kassandra's job. She showed them how to press the right buttons and keep the library card in the right place, how to pull out the receipt and how to find the due date.
